"How can I pretend this is art?"

This isn’t what it looks like. It isn’t some big racial comment meant to change the world, it was part of a stop motion video shot in an old studio. I wanted to disappear slowly into the background, bit by bit. At the end I was completely painted black, looked to my colleague and thought ‘how can I pretend this is art?’ Like much of my work, the answer was in the question, and I rolled with it to produce this shocking and provoking photograph.
